Account Services on the Web

Account Services on the Web (ASW), is a service of Information Technology Services (ITS), which allows you to manage various attributes associated with your use of network services.

You can manage attributes associated with your Net-ID (your "account" or "username" or "login"), such as your password, where your email is delivered, etc.

You can create and manage lists of users and use these lists for a variety of uses (as a mailing list or to give access to file space or other resources).

You can manage file systems (your "home directory" or perhaps you will rent additional disk space, or manage a group file space).

You can manage "Grants" and "Funding Sources". Funding Sources tell how services purchased are ultimately paid for (for example on your "U-Bill" or via a Departmental Fund Account), while Grants are a mechanism to determine who has access (and how much access) to the resources of a funding source.

You may also have the responsibility to manage access to systems or printers, or to manage the access of non-ISU users of the system (e.g., collaborators from another institution).
